Our Cherry Rescue Project
At Citizen, we’re collaborating with our mates at NZ Cherry Corp, one of Aotearoa’s best & biggest cherry growers located in the sunny and stunning Cromwell, New Zealand - as seen on Hyundai Country Calendar.

We Work Together To Upcycle
Every year, NZ Cherry Corp have tonnes & tonnes of perfectly delicious cherries that cannot be sold locally or for export, due to cosmetic imperfections (like the ones to the left, honest, these are some of the cherries we use!). And rather than wasting these cherries, we’re working together to upcycle and repurpose these delicious tree ripened cherries which are packed with flavour and nutritional benefits, and we have the shared aim to have ‘zero cherry waste by 2025’.
We call this project the ‘Cherry Rescue Project’
You can see NZ Cherry Corp’s ‘Cherry Rescue Project’ logo on the back of every Citizen rescued cherry soda and RTD. Plus, we want people to feel good about the positive impact they’re having, by simply enjoying a can of rescued soda or RTD – that’s why we call out how many cherries we save in each can… so sip by sip, we really are saving tasty cherries from going to waste!

Find us in a fridge near you
We’ve partnered with our mates at Woolworths, BurgerFuel, Farro and a bunch of great cafes, restaurants, and bars around NZ – so you can look for Citizen Rescued Sodas around Aotearoa, and you'll even us in fridges in Hong Kong!
But we’re always looking for new great places that would like to stock our range of rescued Sodas.
If you’d like to potentially stock Citizen Rescued Sodas, drop Donald an email at donald@citizen.co.nz, and we can get some samples and pricing heading your way.
